The Posts of All Posts

Okay so it's taken me over a week to write this post because I'm a totally lazy blogger. Sometimes the whole blogging process seems overwhelming. Better late than never though. Get ready for some pictures, that's all I have to say

A few weekends ago we did the Harmons MS Bike Ride- round two. Thank you again everyone who donated this year! That includes the Blackwoods, my grandma Maggie, Laurie Wall, Brad G., Karen Bueler, my Nana, and the Parrishes!

This year we camped at the park with our friends we rode with. It was the perfect day for a ride. I did the 40 miler with my mom and had some quality mother daughter time. Elliott rode with his team Bike Up Hill and they finished the 100 miler. Amazing.

(A word about the Taco Stop. We found this place after wandering back from a failed attempt to find a white sand beach. It was just around the corner from the place we stayed. Elliott and I had our first fish tacos, and we're now converted. They were amazing, the best tacos we've ever had. Ever. And their smoothies....oh.... banana, watermelon, mango. They were the best smoothies we've ever had as well. The place is owned by a few young Argentines. This is the best place we ate. Hence going back every day for the rest of the trip.)

Saw Paul Millsap (Utah Jazz basketball player)

At this point we are all exhausted and we're at that point where all you want to do is crawl in bed. En route to our car (on the shuttle), right as I was thinking of our insanely comfortable bed, a woman had a seizure. Her family slowly lowered her onto the floor, laid down her pillow, and informed us she was epileptic. I already was feeling extremely grateful for the trip we had just taken and all the activities we were able to enjoy, but this was quite the reminder of how lucky we truly are to have healthy bodies that allow us to do all the things we love (as well as the simple things like driving).

The journey was long and tiring (15 hour traveling day) and it took a toll on our toes. Yes, our toes. Elliott stubbed his on the airplane, rolled over them with the 46 pound suitcase, and then if that wasn't enough, I then rolled over them again with the same suitcase. When we finally got home and I was minutes away from that bed I'd been thinking about for the past few hours, I jammed my toes into the tile step in our bathroom. Why is it so frustrating when you stub your toes? I partly just feel stupid because it happened, and then on top of that, it just hurts. really. bad.

On the bright side, our garden is thriving and it looks like we are ready to harvest some romaine lettuce and red lettuce! We now have buds on our tomato and pepper plants. Our strawberry plant, however, looks pretty sad.

If you look closely, there's a little green pepper in there
It's nice to be back home after a long trip.

But the trip was amazing.

  1. Beth, your trip looked soooo amazing! I'm seriously beyond jealous! and those clouds are so cool! looks like a fun trip!! Love the pics!

ps. The pic of that pig reminded me of a story Connor told me about his Peru mission. The villagers were going to sacrifice this HUGE pig to feed everyone, but when they cut open its stomache, worms shot of it! Connor said there was so many worms in the pig, that it made a hissing sound! so nasty!
